Dr. Paula’s journey with chiropractic care began as a child at Lendrum Health Centre—an experience that sparked a lifelong passion for natural healing. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College West and now serves her community with the same care and commitment that first inspired her. Dr. Paula specializes in the Gonstead Technique, and her mission is to help people reconnect with the innate healing potential of their bodies.
The nervous system is how your brain controls and coordinates everything in your body. Nerve signals travel from the brain, down the spinal cord, and exit through openings between the vertebrae—controlling everything from muscle movement to organ function. When these spinal bones become misaligned, the openings for the nerves can narrow or become blocked, disrupting the flow of nerve signals. This interference can lead to pain, loss of function, or degeneration in different parts of the body. Even everyday issues like headaches can be the result of nerve pressure caused by a spinal misalignment. The Gonstead Technique uses a detailed system of analysis—including visualization, static and motion palpation, instrumentation, and X-rays—to detect spinal misalignments (or subluxations). Once identified, the specific segment is gently adjusted by hand to restore proper alignment. This takes pressure off the nerves, improves joint movement, and most importantly, reconnects the brain and body so they can work together the way they’re meant to. When that connection is restored, your body can begin to heal and function at its best.
Kaitlyn graduated from Makami College in April 2018 with 3000 hours of hands on experience. Since then, Kaitlyn has deepened her interest in proper movement and how it can go hand-in-hand with massage to meet your wellness and pain management goals.
Kaitlyn’s modalities include therapeutic, deep tissue, pain relief, and cupping. In addition to massage, Kaitlyn has completed her 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in December 2019.
Kaitlyn has really enjoyed incorporating the importance of proper movement, stretching, and strengthening into her treatments for her clients to do at home. Kaitlyn always insures her clients are set up for success with an individualized treatment plan and home care.
Kaitlyn also has plans to expand her practice with Craniosacral Therapy, TMJ disfunction, and eventually, Acupuncture.
Outside of massage, Kaitlyn is interested in nutrition and holistic wellness. When she isn’t massaging or doing yoga, Kaitlyn loves to check out local restaurants and cafes and being out in nature with her dog.
